Psychotherapy is a process that creates a safe space for self-exploration and self-discovery within the context of a therapeutic relationship. Having a curious and non-judgmental listener will help you to become more curious about yourself and feel more comfortable exploring your internal world of feelings, thoughts, fantasies, and dreams.

Together, we will explore your inner world, learn about any self-defeating patterns that create suffering in your life, and work through the conflicts or defenses that get in the way of a fulfilling life. I believe a successful treatment goes beyond finding relief from symptoms, sets you free from the bonds of past experience, and fosters a capacity to live a joyful life in the present moment. While insight or intellectual understanding is valuable and helpful to make healthy changes in your life, I believe, what truly creates a more long-lasting change is a combination of insight and emotional understanding. Hopefully we will be able to create a space together that would allow you to have access to a wide spectrum of your emotions and gain experiences that are deep, meaningful, and healing.

Your dreams are welcome to our sessions. As a psychologist trained in psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapy, I view dreams, symbols, and metaphors as invaluable assets for understanding the mind and the unconscious content of the psyche. Dream interpretation is a creative process; it is like interpreting a poem saturated with metaphors and symbolic language of your internal world. Understanding your dreams sheds light on your wishes, provides insight into your unresolved fears,  alleviates psychic tension, and increases creativity.
